—— OUR STORY & HERITAGE

BRIDGING STUDENTS & VETERANS.

Founded in 2023 at the University of Florida, the Veteran Outreach Program connects students with meaningful opportunities to serve and support veterans throughout Gainesville and the surrounding community. Through service, outreach, and lasting relationships, VOP works to strengthen the connection between our campus and the veterans who call our community home.

—— FOUNDED AT UF IN 2023

Answering the Call on Campus.

The Veteran Outreach Program was established in 2023 at the University of Florida with a simple goal: connect students with meaningful opportunities to serve and support veterans in Gainesville and the surrounding community.

What began as a student-led effort has grown into a community centered on service, connection, and giving back to those who served. Through veteran companionship, volunteering, community outreach, donation drives, fundraising events, and partnerships with local veteran-serving organizations, VOP gives students the opportunity to make a direct and lasting difference beyond the classroom. At the heart of VOP is the belief that supporting veterans goes beyond a single event or volunteer shift. We aim to build genuine relationships, strengthen connections between students and veterans, and create programs that continue serving our community for years to come.
